There is a famous saying:-
“Need is the mother of invention.”
Now, you may be thinking about what kind of start is this for a cake recipe blog. But it is justified as the blog is about baking a chocolate cake in cooker.
So, the saying “need is the mother of invention” led the world to invent high-end baking machinery and tools which are being used by bakers today around the globe.
And the same saying made people find ways of baking cake at home without the modern baking machinery and tools.
And hence, it gave birth to the cooker cake recipe.
With focused and precise reading, and with baking essentials (ingredients) in stock, you can now easily satisfy your sudden cake cravings.
Here, we are sharing an easy peasy cooker cake recipe of baking chocolate cake in a pressure cooker.
Tight your apron! Let’s Start!
Preparation Time | Baking Time | Total Time
To Feel Like A King Baker |
15 Minutes (approx.) | 55 Minutes (approx.) | 1 Hour 10 minutes (approx.) |
Baking Ingredients:-
Flour – ¾ cup
Cocoa Powder – 3 tablespoons
Milk – ¼ cup
Baking Soda – ¾ cup
Butter – 3 tablespoons (of whatever brand you like)
Eggs – 1 ½ (medium size, good quality)
Water – ¼ cup
Sugar – ½ cup
Vanilla Extract – ½ tablespoon
Salt – ¼ tablespoon
Vinegar – ½ tablespoon
Liquid Chocolate – 1 cup
And yes, the Pressure Cooker (hahaha)
The Process: –
- In a cake pan, add some butter and grease it on all sides, add flour and spread it in such a way that it is coated well on all sides.
- Take a bowl and pour flour, salt, and baking soda in it.
- Mix all the ingredients in the bowl gently until they mix well.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and keep it aside until needed.
- Take another bowl and add butter and sugar in it.
- Whisk them well until you get a perfect mixture. You can do it with your hands, or you can use an electric beater as well.
- Now add the eggs to this mixture and beat until it gets a little fluffy.
- On the next step, add cocoa powder and water and mix again till a perfect consistency.
- It’s time to add vinegar and vanilla extract and to repeat the mixing process again.
- Add milk to the mixture and mix it well, gently.
- Now, to prepare a batter, add the flour mixture (prepared in step 4) to the mixture prepared later (step 5 to step 10).
- The flour should be added with the mixture in two parts by folding gently after each addition.
- At this step, keep your nerves in control and do not over mix. The mixing should be done until you see no traces of flour.
- Focus on making the batter lumps free as they can harm the final product.
- Preheat the cooker by covering the base with some salt and close the lid.
- With utmost care, pour the batter from the bowl to the cake pan.
- While you pour the batter in the cake pan, a good amount of air dives in, so tap the cake pan firmly on a flat surface to remove air bubbles from the batter.
- Carefully put the cake pan into the cooker and close the lid.
- Now cook for 40- 45 minutes on a low flame.
- You can take it as a sign that it’s baked when the cake will leave the sides of the pan.
- Carefully (by wearing kitchen gloves or with a potholder) take out the cake pan from the cooker and leave for 10 minutes to cool.
- Turn the cake pan upside down on a flat plate to take out the cake and decorate it with the liquid chocolate.
- Keep the cake in the refrigerator until the liquid chocolate gets a little hard.
- Take the cake out, serve cool, and enjoy!
